                                                 THE WEST AND THE EAST

Culture is a specific characteristic of each area. It tells you a lot of things about the country that you concern. Culture may be people, food, behaviors, etc. When you come to other coutries for vacations, or study abroad, culture shock may lead to many problems if you have no idea about it. Especially, differences between Western and Eastern countries are so easy to perceive. This Saturday, we are going to hold a meeting to discuss  the differences between those countries. Let’s come and join us!

(2:30 – 3:30) Breaking the ice:

       Introducing yourself and making friends with others.

(3:30 – 4:30) Discussing in group:

1.  Do you think that cultural differences become barriers for nations to come closer? Why?
2.  Some people say that bias and hate crime is a result of differences in culture. Do you agree? Why?
3.  Cultures in the West and in the East have their own pros and cons. Let’s take 2 America and China for representatives and talk about them.
4.  Please share your experiences in term of cultural diversity.

We will give you some pictures. They tell you some differences between the East and the West of the author Yang Liu in his project named “East meets West”. Your task is creating and performing a scenario which combines all the contents of these pictures below.
